Capture It All

Life is Good ~ and I think we are Blessed

Mindfulness is the key to realizing that on a day to day basis, though, I think!

By paying attention to details and trying to live in the moment, I'm enjoying my days more fully.
Recently, I've started writing down three things I'm grateful for each night ~ well, trying to do this in my journal each's a habit I'm working on!
And I've been reading about Gratitude journals and a thankful heart.

A great book I started explores the idea of trying this for a year...the author talks about why need to make a purposeful attempt at reframing our days to look for things to be grateful for because we tend to dwell on negative too easily...but if we are aware of watching for what we are going to write about that evening, we look for the good.

The idea of Gratitude was talked about by philosophers for centuries, but only more recently looked at by psychologists and gratitude journals are being advocated. Studies show happiness is felt more readily by those that express gratitude...happiness itself is fleeting with an occurrence, but gratitude is a feeling that sustains.

I am continuing my class through this year with the Stampin'Up! Love Today Planner Kit.
I invite you to join us with the start of the New Year and new Resolutions!
Class includes the beautiful kit and you will receive writing prompts, crafting techniques and encouragement about once a week to keep you on track.
Some experts say a habit takes about a month to be learned, new evidence shows some habits might take 2 or 3 months, and even 6 the course, and encouragement, will run for the next 6 months for just $75.

Join us...we've been having fun! ~ and welcome you to play along to create a beautiful journal through the coming months that is uniquely our own full of memories, daily happenings and gratitude!

Jar of Love by Stampin'Up!

Something I created in the summer when the jars first came out. I had wanted to showcase the many ways to use these fabulous jars. The ideas were a conglomeration of ideas from others or created by me. When I first started putting it together I realized I wouldn't be able to do an equal grid, so had fun coming up with the sizing. Many of the ideas using the jars is as the jar as a I wanted to represent that..but in a sampler like this the ideas needed to mostly be 'contained' to make it work.
I added a bit of washi tape and even a doiley to add a bit to the backgrounds. Dimensionals to pop things out.
I added in the heart die from Sunshine Wishes as the wreath because I loved the idea of a wreath (mostly from Swirly Scribbles) but love the heart and wanted to pull in the tangerine colour!
The Jar of Love set has wonderful words, too, that I was able to show off, too!

Fresh Fruit Trio

Yesterday, while playing with some samples for the class tomorrow, I had one of those "hmmm..." moments. I don't think I'd be the first to look at the flower in the Fresh Fruit by Stampin'Up! stamp set and not sort of see citrus fact the Designer Series paper of the same Suite has one side of lemon slices...Adding the peach outline stamped and rotated 3 times adds a nice 'rind' ~ and with a little imagination and the right colours...I think we can create a passable citrus slice from the set!
It was late by the time I'd stamped and punched, so I turned to pinterest for a layout I liked and found a perfect idea from Linda Callahan, using the Apple of My Eye set from last year. I especially loved that she used the blue card base...really gives a pop to the citrus, I think.

I saw a great take on a layout challenge from Mojo Monday. I had fun adapting the layout with the new things!

And another card I put together, last night came from wanting to use the scribble background from You've Got This Stamp set,  I thought I'd like to try a card with a cutout of a pear...and thought it would look nice layered onto that great scribble background. I made a couple attempts at adding the accent of pink onto the pear, but happy with the way it looks...and I was pretty happy with the size and font of the word Amazing from the new Marquee Messages.

I think we are going to have fun at this class. One of my gals made fresh jam last week and offered to bring along a jar with some cream if I made the I'll be baking tomorrow for the class!
